unlikely crew

An Unlikely Crew

This is a picture of some of my friends from home. It didn't ocurr to

me until I posted it on Facebook that they make a rather

unconventional group. Actually, they pretty much have nothing in

common except those recesses spent on the eagle's perch in our

elementary school's playground. Here's a few reasons why I love these

guys and a little background on who they are to me (from right to

left).

Jerrel: Known to me as "Cousin `Rell", we actually have no blood

relation; that may come as a surprise given that we look so much

alike. I spent my summers in Jerrel's backyard with a boombox and

juices whose flavor was a color (purple drink anyone?). I don't think

I've ever seen him angry or heard him say a mean word about anyone.

But I wouldn't hesitate to call him in the event that I needed help

kicking someone's ass.

Travis: Friends since the ripe age of four, Trav and I have probably

never shared ill words. He's so laid back that he never even seems to

get annoyed with my constant gabbering and nonsense. In the unlikely

event that I will ever be able to stand looking at an artist's

interpretation of me on canvas, that artist will be Travis.

Shawn: this guy gives the absolute best hugs in the entire world. If

you want to feel like someone's happy to see you, hang out with Shawn.

He's always happy to see everyone, even me. If you suggest anything at

all that would be kind of fun, he'll make it happen because he's

always down for a good time. Who isn't?

Collin: I have a hard time keeping up with Collin's latest quests for

spiritual discovery. I'm confident though, that when he finds what

he's looking for, the world will be able to read it on his face as

well as on the MySpace bulliten he'll likely post. And then he will

buy rounds of whiskey for us all. Boy does he like whiskey.

Funny comment of the night: "Look, Jerrel's in camo!"
